My name is Annie, I'm a Licensed Massage Therapist as well as a Certified Infant Massage Therapist/Instructor working at Huntsville Massage Professionals, 600 St. Clair Avenue, Bldg 9, Suite 25, Huntsville, Alabama.  I have been practicing massage since 2000 and I would love to introduce you to the wonders and benefits of Prenatal and Infant Massage.

Infant Massage and Prenatal Massage are two subjects that are close to my heart.  This website is, for the most part, dedicated to the wonderful benefits of infant massage.  As infants are born from the mother, I would also like to include Prenatal massage information as well.

Mothers (and fathers) go through tremendous change when they "are with child" (I love that expression).  As you navigate through my website I would like for you to take away, and remember, a wealth of information that will come in handy should you begin a family.  And then benefit from this information through prenatal massage and then infant massage.

Soon-to-be-fathers can be taught how to massage soon-to-be-mommies so that both are more relaxed and can look forward to the newcomer in their lives.  After the birth of baby I also teach couples massage, which can benefit both parents, and baby.  A calm and happy family leads to a calm and happy baby.

And of course fathers can benefit from having their own massage.  We don't want to leave out any family member.  If fathers are interested in massage they are welcome to call 931-638-6116 and request a massage at Massage by Annie with me.  I offer a variety of massage modalities such as Hot Stone Massage, Swedish and Deep Tissue massage and my most popular Combo or Focused Massage.

Toddlers also benefit from massage, but in my experience, the earlier you start massage the better.  It becomes a part of their life like eating, brushing their teeth and bedtime.

At a very early age my granddaughter started receiving massages by me (and her mommy).  After just a few sessions she began to notice as I would gather the materials for her massage, all the while I was speaking to her, asking her if she was ready for her massage, and telling her I was there for her.  She would begin to get very excited and kick her legs and laugh.  She especially loved having her ears and tummy rubbed.  Bath time came right after her massage and then bedtime, most times she would be asleep before I closed the door after saying "goodnight."

Infant Massage has been around for many centuries, although fairly new in the United States... it is gaining popularity.  The benefits for the baby and caregivers are numerous.  Studies have shown that massage can play a significant role in promoting proper growth and healthy development of infants.

Having the opportunity to learn how to massage your newborn in the comfort of your home is now available and can have many rewards for baby and parents alike.  Please feel free to contact me for further information or to have a Brochure sent to your home.

On September 22, 2009 my third, and wonderful, grand-daughter was born, Annalise.  I was very excited about helping my daughter adjust to this new addition to her home life.

I stayed with my daughter to help her adjust to the night feedings and get her baby girl adjusted to sleeping through the night.  Two weeks old and she was really having trouble staying asleep and moving about as if she was restless.  So what does a Granny do?  I turned her towards me and starting soothing her with talk of a massage.  I massaged her legs for about 3-5 minutes, put her back in her sleeper and she was fast asleep within just a few minutes.

When Annalise was four weeks old I taught my daughter to do the massages that I had been enjoying giving her so that she could enjoy this experience.  Her first massage with mommy and then a bath and she slept for 9 hours!  She was one hungry baby when she woke up.  Ever since that first massage and bath, a routine has been set and it never fails, she sleeps 7 to 9 hours every night.  Such a blessing for her mommy.

I am truly amazed at what massage can do for baby, mommy and daddy!

Find out about giving your baby a massage and enjoy the benefits massage can bring to the whole family!
